Lot of 4 – 1940s Dr Guild's Green Mountain Asthmatic Cigarette boxes – NOS

Available for purchase is this lot of 4 small ‘quack medicine’ boxes originally intended to contain 3 of ‘DR GUILD’S GREEN MOUNTAIN ASTHMATIC CIGARETTES’ made by the J H Guild Co of Rupert, Vermont. The boxes I am offering have never been used, and DO NOT CONTAIN the cigarettes. I am guessing these boxes date to the 1940s or thereabouts – maybe earlier. The list of ingredients includes belladonna, which was probably an extract of Jimson Weed or something similar! My guess is smoking these cigarettes at the very least made you forget about your asthma temporarily, even if it didn’t truly alleviate it! I have added a US quarter to the image below so you can sense the comparative sizes of this box, which is relatively small – it measures about 1 inch by 3 inches by 7/16 inches when formed into its box shape. Box end advertises the larger packaging of the same product – ‘Package of 24 Cigarettes – 75c(ents)’
I have several of these, and all boxes are never-used, never formed into final shape, new old stock – I am sure you will be pleased! If you are interested in purchasing quite a number of these, let me know and we can probably work out a mutually agreeable deal (through ebay, of course!).
